Adult Art Night: Doodle & Bloom (Botanicals Rooted in Black American Heritage)

  • Albany Public Library 2450 14th Avenue Southeast Albany, OR, 97322 United States (map)

Settle into an evening of art-making that honors Black American heritage through creativity and shared learning. This Adult Art Night is led by local teaching artist Janique Crenshaw, in partnership with KinCultivate and the Albany Public Library. Using acrylic markers, participants will learn a small set of approachable shapes and techniques, then build them into expressive botanical imagery connected to the cultural stories and traditions carried through everyday plants. The workshop balances guided instruction with personal choice, welcoming beginners while remaining engaging for those who enjoy drawing. The focus is on learning tangible skills, honoring heritage beyond a single month, and creating artwork that feels grounded and personal. All materials are provided. Space is limited, and materials are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
