Dara Elkanah
Family & Community Connector
Dara serves as KinCultivate’s Family & Community Connector, where she helps create welcoming, culturally grounded spaces for youth and families. A first-generation Nigerian American and eldest daughter, Dara brings a deep sense of care, leadership, and insight to her work, both in the community and the classroom.
She is currently studying Human Development and Family Sciences at Oregon State University, with a focus on child development and a minor in sociology. Dara has a special interest in developmental psychology and culturally responsive education, especially for children of color. She has trained in restorative practices and continues to explore the intersections of identity, education, and social change. Her work reflects a passion for helping young people feel affirmed, empowered, and connected to who they are.
