KinCultivate Book Lab:
KinCultivate’s Book Lab series invites elementary-age kids and their families to explore books and storytelling through hands-on activities, crafts, and creative exploration. Each session features a different book and theme, sparking a love of reading that lasts well beyond the event. Sometimes we’re joined by the book’s author, other times by local guest presenters—but every Book Lab connects stories with real-world fun.
In This Session:
Celebrate reading with twin sisters Neecy and Nay Nay as they dive into a garden adventure full of soil, silliness, and just the right amount of mischief! Neecy and Nay Nay and the Green Thumbs follows the twins from composting and planting to a runaway worm mishap, all while discovering lessons about family, friendship, and growing something new.
During this free interactive activity hour, kids can meet the author, explore garden-themed stations, and enjoy take-home activities to keep the reading going at home. Recommended for elementary students, but all are invited to this family-friendly program.
About the Author:
Simone “Neecy” Dankenbring has lived all of her life as an identical twin. The adventures from childhood are the backdrop of the Neecy and Nay Nay series. Simone lives in Sweet Home, Oregon with her husband/pastor, Jeff, and her two adorable dogs, Bo and Zoie. She has a plethora of loves for writing, singing, creative arts, and gardening. When she isn’t digging in the dirt or dancing in the rain, she can be found blogging and writing for inspiration. Her works have been published in magazines and online publications. Simone is intrigued by all things medical related and enjoys learning and watching surgeries online. She continues to work on many more adventures for Neecy and Nay Nay and future books to come.
